Creditaria’s 26th Anniversary: A story that began in Madrid and now seeks to connect opportunities around the world
Daniel Martinez Pantoja

On September 11, 2000, a story began that is still being written 26 years later. Creditaria was founded in Madrid with an idea that was as simple as it was ambitious: to help people make better financial decisions and find solutions at important moments in their lives.

What began as a project specializing in financial brokerage and advisory services evolved over time, adapting to different markets, creating new business models, and crossing borders to become an international ecosystem of financial, legal, mortgage, training, and real estate services.

On September 11, 2026, we celebrated 26 years of experience, innovation, entrepreneurship, and, above all, trust. Because behind every loan, every franchise, every transaction, and every new company created over the years is something much more important: People striving to build a better future.

From Madrid to the world: where our story began

Creditaria was founded in Madrid on September 11, 2000, at a time when brokers and financial intermediaries were still relatively uncommon in Spain. From our earliest years, we set out to do things differently: compare options, understand clients’ needs, and help them find appropriate financial solutions through knowledge, guidance, and specialized expertise.

Over time, this philosophy became part of our DNA:

"Put the client first, use experience to simplify complex decisions, and evolve continuously." Gonzalo Bellón - Creditaria co-founder.

Creditaria’s own history reflects its pioneering role in Spain in mortgage-related products, refinancing, and debt consolidation, at a time when these types of solutions were just beginning to reach the general public.

2006: We began crossing borders

Our international outlook emerged early. In 2006, Creditaria began operating in Portugal, offering services related to mortgage loan processing, financial advice, and debt refinancing. That expansion was an early sign of what would later become a constant throughout our history: adapting our expertise to new markets.

Later, we would establish a presence and gain experience in several markets, including Chile, Colombia, and Brazil. But one of the most important chapters in our story was still to come.

Mexico: The project that transformed Creditaria

Creditaria arrived in Mexico in 2007. The first franchise was launched with Juan Kasuga, and from there we developed a model that would go on to transform Mexico’s mortgage brokerage market. Ten years later, the company had more than 220 offices and reported a record 25 billion pesos in mortgage loans placed.

An extraordinary expansion began from that point. "The model enabled professionals from banking, finance, and entrepreneurship to build their own businesses using Creditaria’s brand, banking relationships, technology, training, and experience." Juan Kasuga - Former Director of Creditaria Mexico.

The network eventually grew to more than 1,000 offices in Mexico, supported by thousands of advisors and relationships with dozens of financial institutions. But perhaps one of our greatest achievements was not simply the size of the network. It was helping to professionalize the role of the mortgage broker in Mexico. Creditaria helped create and strengthen an ecosystem in which specialized financial advisors became increasingly important partners for banks and families seeking financing.

We build entrepreneurs, not just offices

From the beginning, we understood that growth didn’t simply mean opening branches. It meant creating business owners. Through our franchise model, more than a thousand entrepreneurs have been able to build businesses related to financial services. The group’s corporate websites currently report more than 1,100 entrepreneurs connected to this story. To help them grow, we developed tools that became part of the Creditaria model.

One of these was Universidad Creditaria, created to provide the network with ongoing training in financial products, regulations, sales processes, and customer service. Later, training initiatives such as Gimnasio Creditaria were introduced, along with technology systems, sales tools, and tracking platforms to help our advisors work more efficiently. That spirit continues today: experience is valuable only when we are able to share it.

From mortgages to a 360° financial vision

Creditaria began with a strong focus on mortgage loans, but our clients’ needs evolved, and we evolved with them. Over time, we added solutions for SME loans, insurance, investment funds, auto loans, personal loans, and other financial options.

Today, Creditaria’s offering in Mexico aims to support clients at different stages of their financial lives: buying a home, improving a mortgage, financing a business, protecting assets, investing, or buying a car. This diversification demonstrates something we’ve learned over 26 years: products change, technology changes, and markets change, but the need for a good advisor remains.

Spain: Turning financial problems into new opportunities

While the Mexican model evolved into a large financial services network, Creditaria Spain developed another specialty that is now part of the group: specialized legal advice.

Creditaria Estudio Legal currently works in areas related to debt, deed-in-lieu of foreclosure, mortgage proceedings, and Spain’s Second Chance Law. Cases published by the firm show real situations in which people facing serious debt have obtained court-ordered debt relief and the opportunity to rebuild their financial lives.

It’s another way of fulfilling the mission that began in Madrid in 2000: helping people regain control of their financial lives.

Canada: A new international chapter

In 2023, we took another important step by beginning operations in Canada. The Canadian market opened the door to a new generation of services related to mortgages, insurance, investments, and financial planning. Creditaria Financial Group Corp. was registered in Canada in August 2023.

The strategy later expanded to include exploratory steps toward the United States and an opportunity we clearly identified: Connecting North America financially with Mexico.

Millions of Mexicans live outside Mexico, while more and more Americans and Canadians are considering our country as a place to invest, retire, buy a second home, or build wealth. New projects emerged from this opportunity.

2025: A new chapter for Creditaria Mexico

A company that has been growing for 26 years must also know how to transform. In September 2025, Creditaria Mexico began a new chapter by joining Grupo HIR, one of Mexico’s business groups with an extensive track record in the financial and real estate sectors. The transaction brought greater institutional support, technology investment, and new opportunities for the network, while Creditaria Mexico retained its operating structure and leadership.

At the time of the transaction, the company had more than 1,000 franchises and approximately 2,000 advisors, and it was estimated that around one out of every seven bank mortgage loans in Mexico was handled through the Creditaria network. More than the end of one chapter, this represents another quality that has been part of our brand since 2000: Evolving to keep growing. This fulfills the idea and vision of our founders "Leave things in better condition than we found them" —the legacy left to us by Daniel Fernández - Creditaria co-founder, R.I.P.

Creditaria USA: Break down the barriers to financing and homebuying with Mexico Mortgage Hub and Homes in Mexico

Mexico Mortgage Hub, created to help Americans, foreign residents of Mexico, and Mexicans living abroad find financing to purchase property in Mexico. The platform is part of Creditaria USA and connects international buyers with mortgage options in Mexico, guiding them through prequalification, comparison, and closing.

The second is Homes in Mexico, a project that moves from financing a property to finding one. It specializes in bringing Mexican real estate opportunities to international buyers. Homes in Mexico works especially with buyers and investors from the United States, combining property searches, real estate guidance, and access to mortgage solutions through Mexico Mortgage Hub.

And Creditaria Financial Services will specialize in mortgage financing solutions, focused on facilitating access to credit for real estate purchases and investments for both U.S. residents and interested international buyers and investors. Our goal is to guide every client through the entire mortgage process, from the initial review of their financial profile and identification of financing options to assembling the application and closing the transaction.

In many ways, this is a natural evolution of the knowledge Creditaria has built around the world over more than two decades. First, we helped people compare mortgages within a country. Today, we can help a client living in one country finance their assets in another market. In doing so, we have built something that 26 years ago we could hardly have imagined: An ecosystem where a client can discover a real estate opportunity in one country, receive guidance, explore financing, and complete their investment with the support of specialists from the same group, thousands of miles away. Creditaria was founded to help people secure financing. Today, we also help them find where to invest it.

26 years can be summed up in one word: Trust

Over these 26 years, we have launched companies, developed franchises, trained advisors, built technology, formed partnerships, crossed borders, and been part of thousands of financial journeys.

But none of these achievements would have been possible without trust:

  • The trust of those who let us help them buy their first home.
  • The trust of the business owner who entrusted us with financing their business.
  • The trust of the franchisee who chose to build their future around our brand.
  • The trust of the financial institutions that work with our advisors.
  • The trust of our colleagues, partners, and families around the world.

And the trust of everyone who, over these 26 years, has made it possible for the company founded in Madrid on September 11, 2000 to continue evolving.

Today, we are celebrating not only where we came from, but everything we can still build.

Today, the page is called Creditaria USA; tomorrow, Creditaria Indonesia; and the day after, perhaps Creditaria Japan—or wherever the world allows us to continue writing our story. "The financial world will continue to change. New technologies, products, markets, and ways to invest will emerge. And we will continue doing what we have done from day one: listening, learning, innovating, and using our experience to open up opportunities." Daniel Martínez - Director of Marketing and Expansion at Creditaria International.

Thank you to every client, colleague, franchisee, advisor, financial institution, and partner who has been part of this story.

Thank you for 26 years of trust. Thank you for 26 years of making projects a reality, building wealth, and creating opportunities.

And, above all:

Thank you for making Creditaria “The value of experience.”
